Our Legal Counsel will…
Have a primary focus on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners across multiple jurisdictions.
Provide advice on employment-related matters across the employee lifecycle (including hiring, performance management, employee relations, and terminations), with support from external counsel as needed.
Collaborate with company leadership, business leads, and the People Team to understand business goals, translate complex legal risks into practical and accessible guidance, and align legal processes with company strategy and growth.
Continually improve legal operations and internal frameworks to support new products, services, and markets while mitigating legal and compliance risks.
Partner with external counsel to manage specialized, cross-border, or complex legal issues.
Have the opportunity to develop expertise in new areas of law, with appropriate training and mentorship, as the company grows and evolves.
A great candidate will have…
3+ years of post-qualification experience (UK or common law) gained in-house or in private practice (ideally from a large international firm or company with exposure to cross-border transactions).
Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally in a technology or services environment.
Employment law experience, particularly with UK employment matters (e.g., unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, or whistleblowing) and familiarity with key global jurisdictions (especially EMEA, APAC, and the Americas).
A commercial mindset and ability to balance legal risk with practical business needs.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritize, and respond quickly in a fast-moving environment.
Cultural awareness and the ability to navigate cross-border legal and operational issues with sensitivity and adaptability.
Fluency in legal-level English, both written and spoken, as well as an uncanny ability to translate convoluted legalese into day to day language that supports understanding and decision-making.
